Welcome to the 2013-14 hockey season.
We are looking forward to a great year. Our focus with the players this season will be on skill development and team play. A successful season isn't just about wins and loses but about making improvements and having a fun year.
The coaching staff would just like to remind you of a few expectations/house keeping type items:
GAMES
1) Be in the change room 1/2 hour before all games
2) If you cannot attend a game you must let the coaching staff know as soon as you know so that we can arrange for alternate players to fill in.
3) If you need a ride just ask someone on the staff and we will try to accommodate you.
PRACTICE
1) Players to be on the ice at the start of the practice
2) If, for what ever reason, you are not going to be at practice please let the team staff know- prior- to the practice time. Drills are arranged with numbers in mind.
3) If someone needs a ride just ask the staff and we will make sure you get there.
DRESSING ROOM
1) OMHA policy is that there will be two adults in the change room or outside the change room with the door open at all times.
2) Music is okay but no explicit lyrics.
3) Swearing is not allowed for any reason.
4) No Bullying or harassment of any kind to any player or officials in the dressing room or on the ice. We are a team and we will support each other both on and off the ice.
ON ICE
1) Coaches and Captains are the spokespersons on the ice. No matter the call players are to accept the officials call and head to the box - without comment.
2) Respect all players on the ice. Each player is responsible for their sticks and hits. there is no place in the game for hitting from behind or intentional head shots!
AFFILIATED PLAYERS
AP's will be required to fill the roster. These players and parents have the same expectation as all others.
TOURNAMENTS
We are looking into tournaments and when get all our options together we will share them with you.
24 HOUR RULE
Please always use the 24 hour rule if you have any concerns about games, practices or staff. Please contact the Parent Rep or Coaches after 24 hours to work through any concerns.
