Wingham vs Minto OMHA Playoffs
Submitted by our team reporter Sue Hoskins.
The Wingham Bantam Rep Team started their best 3 of 5 series against Minto at home on Jan 14th.

This series had it all.  Good aggressive play lots of end to end play, hard work at the boards, Sam Marston was hot in the net and the boys played as a team with some great passing.
    Game 1
Down 1-0 going into the second period Hunter Hemeon tucked in Wingham's first goal assisted by Noah Young.  Colton Dunn scored the second goal assisted by Dustin Roberston.  Minto tied it up early in the third and went ahead 2 minutes later.  As we all know the this team of Bantam Boys does not give up and with 24 seconds left in regulation time Robertson assisted by Jordan Pham sent this game into 10 minutes sudden death overtime.  Minto took this game 4-3 with just 33 seconds left.
    Game 2
This game played out similar to the first game.  Minto again scored first and then Dunn, unassisted, scored in the second.  The team did an excellent job of killing off a 5 on 3 penalty to keep this game 1-1 going into the third.  Cameron Hoskins assisted by Robertson and Dunn scored to go ahead but again Minto tied it up to send this into overtime where they took it 3-2.
    Game 3
Game 3 played Jan 23 was a game the team had to win.  Wingham started off hard a the net and Robeson assisted by Hoskins and Dunn in the first of his 3 goals for a hat trick!!  A scoreless second period left all the action to the end of the third.  Minto scored with 4 minutes to go to tie it up but Robertson scored the go ahead, assisted by Dunn and Nesbitt, at 2:35 and then put in the empty netter to seal the 3-1 for Wingham.  Sam Marston was outstanding in net.
    Game 4
Game 4 was played Feb 3rd in Minto.  This was a very fast paced game in which Minto again took the first goal.  But Cam Hoskins on a beautiful stretch pass by Jack Reidy and assisted by TJ Moores tied it up.  Minto scored two more goals to go ahead and Dunn's late goal assisted by Reidy gave us our second.  Minto, though took this game 4-2 to win the series.  Next up the team gets in to the WOAA round robin series - starting with Zurich.
