PeeWees 1-1 So Far in Silver Stick
The Legion PeeWee Rep team are 1 and 1 in the first 2 games of the Kincardine Silver Stick Tournament.
In the first game, the team had to skate off the Christmas turkey and were down 2-0 after the first period. Wingham scored 1 in the second and pressed hard in the third, but couldn't get the equalizer. Seaforth added 1 late in the third on a goalmouth scramble to squeak out the win.
In game 2 on Dec. 27, Wingham defeated Chatsworth 2-1 to keep their hopes of moving on alive. Les Irvine scored early in the game to give the team a lift. Chatsworth tied the score in the second on a nice backhand shot. Wingham fought off a double penalty with 6 and a half minutes to go and Les Irvine scored his second of the game with just under 2 minutes left to play. The team was hold off a determined Chatsworth challenge to get into the win column.
Wingham plays Norwich on Dec. 29 at 10:10 in Tiverton. If they move on, there will be a semi-final game later in the day.
