PeeWees Struggle in Group Playdowns
The Legion PeeWee Rep squad is struggling against the other teams in their WOAA Group Playdowns.

Grouped with Seaforth, Teeswater and Zurich the team is 0-3 with 3 games remaining.  In the first game the team came out very flat dropping a 4-1 score to visiting Zurich.  The 4th goal was empty net.  There was just no life in the legs in this one as the Wingham team let one slip away.  The next 2 games were against Seaforth.  Up 2-0 part way through the second period on goals by Jordan Pham and Ryan Gangl, the lads stopped forechecking, allowing Seaforth to skate at will.  The result was a 3-2 OT loss.  On Feb. 18 in Seaforth a shorthanded team (both on players and coaching staff) put up a valiant effort.  Down 2-0 late in the game Maison Nesbitt scored 2 quick goals to tie the game.  Unfortunately a last minute goal by Seaforth sealed the game with another 3-2 loss for Wingham.  Next games are Feb. 23 in Wingham vs Teeswater, in Zurich on Feb. 24 and in Teeswater on Feb. 26 to finish the round robin play.
It doesn't look like the team will have the points to advance in Group play.  They will wind up their season at the Young Canada Week PeeWee Tournament in Goderich during March break.
