PeeWees Defeat Mt Forest
The Legion PeeWees got back on the winner's side with a good 5-3 win over Mt Forest in exhibition play Dec. 15. Although getting down 2-0 partway through the second period, the team didn't quit and scored 3 goals before the end of the 2nd. Up 4-2 in the third, a late penalty caused some concern as Mt. Forest scored to make the game 4-3 with 2 minutes remaining. However, a goal into the empty net sealed the victory. The gamesheet isn't available to list the goals and assists and these will be added later.
After playing what some members of the coaching staff call "part games" recently, the team put together a full 40 minutes of 2-way hockey (periods are 10, 15, 15 for PeeWee). A new format for the powerplay paid early dividends on one of the second period goals as well.
The PeeWees only have one more game in the regular season. They host Teeswater on Dec. 22 at 7:00 and then play in the Kincardine Silver Stick during the Christmas break.
