Atom Rep 4-0-1 to Start Season
The Foxton Fuels Atom Rep team is off to a roaring start to the season. After going 4-0 in lopsided wins the team travelled to Tiverton for a game against the "B" level Kincardine team.
This was an excellent game for players, coaches and fans. After posting 4 wins by wide margins it was a good test for the players and they rose to the occasion. Play was end to end at a very quick pace. Hayden Robinson put Wingham on the board first, late in the first period, banging in his own rebound. Kincardine tied the game 3 minutes into the second on a goalmouth scramble.
Leif Skelding's long shot was deflected in front of the Kincardine netminder and that allowed Wingham to take the lead. A few minutes later, Thomas Gangl was robbed of a goal. Making a strong end to end rush he wired a shot toward the top corner of the net, but the goalie made an outstanding glove save. Kincardine was able to tie the game with just under 4 minutes remaining, leaving the game at a tie.
Wingham hosts Teeswater at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 30.
