PeeWees Win International Silver Stick "C" Title
The Wingham PeeWee team has had a great start to 2018. On Jan. 7 they captured the International Silver Stick "C" title in Forest. Defeating Stayner and Bowling Green before dropping a 3-1 game to East Lambton in the round robin, the team bounced with a 5-1 semi-final win over Tweed. That set up a rematch with East Lambton in the final. Up 2-0 in the third, Wingham let East Lambton back in and they tied the score at 2. Wingham went ahead by 1 only to have EL tie it again. Going to overtime, on the powerplay, Wingham ended it quickly to take the title 4-3.
With play strong enough to win the International Silver Stick, it would make sense that Wingham placed some players on the tournament All-Star team.
