Legion PeeWee Rep Season in Full Swing
The Wingham Legion PeeWee Rep team hosted the Drayton Defenders on
November the 8th and did not disappoint their fans. The Drayton team could not handle the puck moving ability and speed of the Wingham team that night. Nigel Fitch started the scoring in the first period with assists going to Thomas Gangl and Colton Atkins. Strong defenders Landon Anderson-Johnston, Spencer Green and Mac Mulvey, prevented the Drayton team from getting any further goals. Josiah Moores tended the net and kept the Defenders at bay. Drayton had a few good chances but Moores handled pretty much anything they shot at him.

The Wingham PeeWees peppered the visitors goalie with a barrage of shots in the second with goals going to Hunter Hemeon and Atkins. Jordan Pham and Gangl picked up the assists. Drayton scored their only goal early in the third period. Late in the third, Wingham got their zest back in time to net their fourth goal by Atkins and assisted by Pham and Hemeon. Forwards Kyle Cronin, Brendan Gallaher, Garrhett Green, and Simon Reidy deserve mention for keeping the puck moving throughout the game.

The team was off to Lucknow to take on the Sepoys on November 14th. Josiah Moores was back between the pipes and defended mightily against the Sepoys in a much stiffer test of our boys. The Sepoys proved to be an even match early on with no scoring occurring during the first period. Cronin led the scoring for Wingham with Fitch and Gallaher picking up the assists. It was followed up by a goal going to Lucknow. Wingham battled back with G. Green adding another point with Pham and Mulvey assisting. Wingham came out a little winded in the third, giving Lucknow a chance to score 2 more goals. Later, the Legion PeeWees tied things up from a solid goal netted by Pham and assisted by Green and Green.

Next, the team traveled to participate in the Lucknow Legion Tournament. Our first opponent was the Kincardine Kinucks. It was 1-1 during the first period with a Wingham goal scored single-handedly by Brendan Gallaher. Kincardine battled back in the second period to score two more goals. The Kinucks were able to keep this momentum up in the third to put four more points on the scoreboard. Wingham was able to net one final goal which was a lone shot by Colton Atkins. The final score was 7-2 for Kincardine. Our second game was a face off with a more evenly matched Teeswater Otter team. The game remained scoreless in the first period due to some excellent goaltending by Garrett Golley. Both teams were keen but Wingham came out ahead in the second with a goal scored by Nigel Fitch and assisted by Gallaher. The Otters pulled ahead in the third by netting 2 goals. It was an excellent period but no second chances were to be given to Wingham. The final score was 2-1 for Teeswater. We would like to thank the Wingham Legion for generously sponsoring the entrance fee for our team to play in this tournament!

On the 19th, the team traveled to Drayton. Alas, it was not to be a repeat of our former triumph over the Defenders. A valiant effort was put forth but to no avail. Drayton came away with a 5-0 victory over Wingham.
The PeeWee Legion Reps are looking forward to their next game in Wingham as they square off against the Mildmay Monarchs on November the 29th at 6:45 pm. Hope to see you there!
