2 Tournament Champions in 1 Weekend!
On Dec. 3 two WMHA teams came home champions of their respective tournaments.
The
Wingham U11 LL Yellow team had a great weekend at the 50th Annual
Wasaga Beach Regional Silverstick tournament!
They started the tournament with a 3-3 tie to Penetanguishene, then went on to win 6-5 against Durham and 7-2 against Wasaga Beach. That put them in first place, with achieving 5 out of the 6 possible points and sending them to the finals. They fought hard and ended up defeating Penetanguishene 4-1 to secure the Championship! The U11 LL yellow team showed great sportsmanship and represented WMH very well! They look forward to representing WMH at the Pelham International Silverstick being held from January 11-14th.
The U11 86'rs (combination of Wingham and Lucknow girls) won the Pink on the Rink tournament in South Huron. The team played 6 games winning the final 2-1 in overtime. In fact, both the semi final and final were overtime games! Congratulations to both teams.
