U18 Girls Win OWHA Title
The Wingham/Lucknow U18C Girls brought home the 2022 OWHA U18C Provincial Championship banner.
On Apr. 8 the team
played Lambeth Lancers losing 1-2. They then beat Mount Forest 2-1 and won against
Brockville 6-1 leaving them in first place in their pool. They played
Chatham in the semi-finals and that win earned the team a spot in the Gold Medal game
with a rematch against Lambeth. Lambeth came out strong, scoring in the
first minute of the game. W/L tied up the game, and added 2 more leaving it 3-2 for W/L after 1, until the third period. The locals scored 2
more goals with less than 6 minutes left in the game and finished off with an
empty net goal making the final score 6-3 to win Gold. Approximately half the players on this team are from WMHA. Congratulations!!
