Message from NH Recreation Department (Dec. 21)
Dear Ice User Groups:
Earlier today (Dec. 21) the Premier of
Ontario announced a Province wide lock down due to the COVID-19
pandemic. The lockdown will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December
26th. Being located in southwestern Ontario, the Huron
Perth Health Unit will be in lockdown for at least 28 days.
Therefore, as a result, the
North Huron Wescast Community Complex and the Blyth and District
Community Centre will be closed from 1 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 24th until
Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (inclusive).
We anticipate Premier Ford will make an announcement on Friday, January 15th or Monday, January 18th with respect to whether or not we will be able to re-open on the 23rd. We will keep our ice users informed on all re-opening procedures closer to Jan. 22, 2021. When planning your programs, please keep in mind that if allowed to re-open we may be in the Red Category of the Framework. The Red Category does not allow for games or scrimmages. It only allows for skill development.
Regards,
NH Recreation Department
