Hitmen Donation to WMHA
The Wingham Hitmen fastball team made a significant $1,000 donation to Wingham Minor Hockey recently. The funds are earmarked to help with the cost of half ice boards.  The boards the Hitmen purchase will go toward will let WMHA partition the ice surface for practices and games of the younger age groups.  Pictured are Hitmen representative Steve Bourne with WMHA Executive members Lisa TeRaa and Dennis McLean.  WMHA is also running a fundraiser in November to help raise additional funds.  Stay tuned for more information.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association, in partnership with the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), is proactively approaching a nation-wide initiative which will see more kids at younger ages playing and practicing hockey in age-appropriate programming. Starting in the 2019-2020 season, Hockey Canada has mandated players 8-years-old and under will participate in modified-ice games, which includes cross-ice or half-ice.
