International Silver Stick Champions!!
Submitted By Dave Tiffin on Sunday, January 7, 2018
The Wingham PeeWee Rep team has won the International Silver Stick PeeWee "C" Division championship.  The team was 2-1 in round robin play, defeating Stayner and Bowling Green 4-3 an 3-1 respectively on Jan. 5.  On Saturday the team dropped a 3-1 decision to East Lambton.  This put Wingham second in their group and set up a semi-final game Sunday morning against Tweed.  Wingham defeated Tweed 5-1 to move into the final against the same East Lambton team.  This time, Wingham came out on top with 4-3 OVERTIME win.  Congratulations to the players and coaches on a great achievement.

With play strong enough to win the International Silver Stick, it would make sense that Wingham placed some players on the tournament All-Star team. In the gallery picture, pictured left to right in the white jerseys are defenceman Nathan Deans, forward Cole Schouten, goalie Ewen Sangster and forward Nate Bloemberg. Also shown are 2 East Lambton players selected to the All-Star team
