Submitted by Team reporter Sue Hoskins.   The team played their first game of the Woolwich Wildcats Tournament Friday Night, beginning a weekend of great hockey.  Game 1 was against the host, Woolwich.  Spencer Green scored 50 seconds in on a pass from Cam Hoskins.  Wingham was then kept off the board until the third period.  Down 2-1 the team kept working the net with lots of shots and Robertson tied it on a backhand shot assisted by Colton Dunn, but Woolwich went up again.  Pulling the goalie in the last minute of play, Robertson tipped in a shot to tie it 3-3.

Game 2 was played against Halton Hills early Saturday morning.  Les Irvine had some shots on net but both goalies were hot and the game did not open up until the third period.
Down 3 goals, defenceman Hemeon went end to end and assisted by Spencer Green popped one in.  Dunn, assisted by Robertson and Nesbitt got Wingham's second goal.  this was followed by Lanny, with 42 seconds left, assisted by Dunn and Nesbitt tying this nail biter 3-3.
Game 3 on the Saturday afternoon was against Merriton and was fast-paced and physical.  the team had not lost a game and Wingham had to win.  Jack Reidy and TJ Moores had wheels on this game and also worked hard ont he boards.  Noah Young scored in the first assisted by Lanny.  Nesbitt assisted by Young made it 2-0to close the second.  Merriton scored in the opening of the third but Robertson scored on a power play put it away 3-1.  this was an excellent game showing off the hard work that makes a team.
The Semi-final was played latter that Saturday night against Owen Sound and goalie Sam Marston was on FIRE!  Both teams were well matched and were firing shots on net.
Green's slap shot was deflected by Dunn to put Wingham on the board 59 seconds in.  Jordan Pham assisted by Young and Nesbitt scored goal two, but Owen Sound answered 10 seconds later.
In the second period, Hoskins put in Wingham's third goal assisted by Hemeon and Nesbitt.  Owen Sound scored early in the third to keep the game close.  But, Pham scored Wingham's forth goal assist by Young.  Again Owen Sound came back, but Robertson, assisted by Dunn, scored goal 5, sending the team to the finals.
The final was against Halton Hills- they'd tied a game earlier on, coming from behind, so it was going to be another great game with lots of effort.
Sam again backstopping the the boys was right on his game.  Halton struck first on a power play goal late int eh first, but Wingham's Hoskins scored as the period was closing assisted by Dunn and Hemeon.
Nesbitt, looking for Robertson, made a beautiful to go ahead 2-1 early in the second.  Halton tied it up to open the third 2-2, went ahead late in the period and put in an empty netter to win the final 4-2.
the team played great hockey and would like to thank Hunter Hemeon for his support.
